Paul Betts

In 2010 Paul Betts joined Leitch and McBride to help us extend our business hours, maintain our high level of personal service and bring new energy to the firm. Paul has over 20 years of experience working in the marine industry as a sailmaker, rigger and in retail. He last worked at UK Halsey Sailmakers and prior to that Paul ran Bosun’s Locker, the Vancouver Island Vanguard Laser Dealer. Paul learned sailmaking at the Hood Sails loft in Victoria and spent time in Japan working at the Hot Sails Maui overflow loft.  He has years of experience with sailboat hardware, systems and rigging and is available to consult with our customers on any aspect of sails, rigging and deck layouts.

Paul is an avid sailor, windsurfer and more recently a kite boarder. He is happy to repair your torn kite or replace a panel in your windsurfing sail.

Paul grew up cruising and spent over eight years offshore with his family cruising the Caribbean, Central and South America. In University he sailed with the U Vic Sailing team and is currently a member of the Royal Victoria Yacht Club.
